I saw her once at a media party. God she was pompous. She arrived with an entourage of about four or five women who sort of hovered around her, waiting for instructions to get her a drink etc. I don't know what it is with these women - they always seem so insecure they have to have other women sort of fluttering around them, and they treat them like slaves (no equality for women when these women are in charge!).

Ah "voices like yours are very dangerous". You must hate George Orwell, BlueBoy, and love Hitler.

Yes I listen to the "experts" BlueBoy. I just don't agree with them. Sorry.
1% of 67 million (uk population) is a very big number and if that number of patients or anywhere close to that number had to be dealt with the NHS service in a 6 to 8 week period it would never cope.
The action being taken by every country around the world is very similar so you are in an incredibly small minority. Given you have no experise in virology yourself you can only be making your conclusions based on hunches. In a time when the country needs to be united voices like yours are very dangerous.

But I know nothing. Doctors & scientists should know more.
Not only do you appear to know little but your views are so blinkered you aren't even listening to those that do.
The reason that there is a lockdown is because the virus is so contagious and infections spread rapidly. There isn't a cure and if the herd immunity route was taken the peak of the outbreak would have put too much pressure on the medical resources so the lockdown spreads the infections obver a longer time period. This approach has been taken by almost every country in the world. even countries such as Sweden have come out and said they got it wrong.
The UK government in February got a report which said unless you try and contain th spread the death toll in the next few months would be 250,000.
