JK2006 Wolf Hall is one of the ten best books of the decade - as is Bring Up The Bodies.
Jo I've never read anything by Hilary Mantel but had been thinking of trying Wolf Hall.
Green Man I read the Amazon reviews - People moaning it's too long. They have never L Ron Hubbard Battlefield Earth ( 1000 pages ) or Mission Earth series.

Hubbard novels are absolute trash and awful but they are wonderful at the same time.
wyot Glad it wasn't just me re Mirror and Light JK. Loved it to start but so disappointed that it became a chore...She just dragged it out too long. Should maybe have been suspicious when it took so long to produce that it wasn't "flowing"...
JK2006 I'm late for a very important date as wyot says elsewhere. We left the realm of sense months ago and are now deep in Wonderland. And I've finally finished Hilary Mantel's Mirror & Light; far, far too long, desperately in need of a good editor, nowhere near as good as the first two but still with magic moments especially in the final 50 pages. But it did become a duty rather than a pleasure.
