Jo What a shame. I had the same impression.
Barney JH is one of the main reasons why violence has disappeared from the island of Ireland.

His selfless quest for peace, at all costs, stood him apart from so many - who sought conditions.

Often pilloried from all sides (including his own; he was a Catholic) - he never gave up.
JK2006 Always liked the man from a distance; he seemed the voice of reason in a debate dominated by violent disagreement.
