Mr Flintstone I don't know. I feel the circumstances around offences (not just sexual) are routinely exaggerated. Plus any negative or aggravating factors are seized on. It is probably inevitable in an adversarial system, the prosecution has to make the defendant appear as guilty as possible. This is even before the media "report" on the story.
Jo I wonder if Matthew Wright will be leaking the accuser's name. I expect not.
JK2006 Perhaps now those in charge will understand that the vast majority of sex claims are exaggerated or totally false; John Leslie's false accuser is, like Carl Beech, the tip of the iceberg. But also police, CPS & media must stop treating stupid claims as possible real crimes. "You will be believed" must end. A fair and balanced assessment must be done and "he grabbed my breasts twelve years ago" must go straight into the bin. For God's sake there is real abuse going on out there! Abusers getting away with it whilst cops take the easy route and media boosts "good stories".
