Maybe the texts gave him the pretext to start afresh. I hope so anyway, as this administration is an ever escalating disaster, at a time that we need some serious statesmanship and leadership.
Let's try and be positive about it, and with a vaccine coming over the next few months too - life will hopefully look and feel different in a few months.
And we can all debate Brexit

It has since come out that it was to do with Cummings disrespecting Boris's fiance by text!
It is bizarre isn't it? I almost smell a rat ('Gosh Dom, what a fun wheeze! We'll feed this dodgy story about a feud to the press and you can return in 2023/2024.') but then there does seem to be some scheming taking place in the background.

That was my thinking too, and I am wondering if Cummings was hoping that the lockdown and financial disaster that follows it might push Boris into a different choice with Brexit, because it seems they disagreed on it?
It has since come out that it was to do with Cummings disrespecting Boris's fiance by text! But whatever the reasons, this cabal of arch brexiteers and lockdowners (who if we believe the press were running the country) has now gone.
Maybe we will at least see a broader discussion about the costs and merits of lockdown and Brexit?
