Topic History of: Brexit - as predicted

Alison Some examples of changes - we're out of Europol, the European police club. And European Extradition Warrants are no longer possible.

So it'll be harder to catch UK criminals in Europe and extremely difficult to repatriate them here. The process will take much longer.

And if a EU national is stopped here, as a suspect - computer access to his criminal history, in his home country, is no longer available.

There will be many more changes - with Northern Ireland, for example, retaining its trade ties with the EU. Unlike the rest of the UK.
Honey Could somebody please explain to me what the point of it all was?
It seems a lot of hassle for not much changes, that nobody cares about anyway.
JK2006 Just like Covid, Brexit was a victory for the media, most of whom love slogans and front page tabloid headlines as policy. Take back control. Fine. We'll survive, as Norway and Switzerland have. Not as well as by being part of a strong, powerful EU but we'll manage. And the majority, the gullibles who still believe, despite solid evidence, that Covid19 is a killer plague, will accept that any financial problems are because of Covid, not Brexit. And will happily pay through the nose for Boris Blunders (except cronies who will do fine). The cash will come from Middle England, the Mail readers who will pay extra being convinced it is needed to pay back loans for Covid support. We will happily suffer because, after all, why bother to moan. Like Tier 4 or whatever stupid idea stupid Covid provokes, let's just go with the flow. We elected them after all.

At this point I must point out that I thought the LibDems would do a deal with Corbyn before the last election; in exchange for a coalition with a LibDem as Deputy PM like Nick Clegg was with Cameron, they would stand down in any seats that Labour might come second to the Tories and Labour would likewise do the same for LibDems. That stupid woman killed that off (and Corbyn who didn't listen to the many anti-Brexit advisors).

So we're screwed. If I didn't love the UK, especially London, I'd sell up and move to France or Italy. But, also, I need to straighten up the system here so innocent men and women no longer fall victim to false accusers and bent cops or crooked lawyers. I met dozens of them in prison. I get contacted by several every day. That is my duty and I cannot shirk it.
JK2006 Sadly wyot, backed by the tabloids Superficial Boris will be hailed as a hero. Brexit will slowly settle back into a far worse situation than we were in before Brexit but everyone will blame it on Covid and get over that when the vaccine kicks in. The stupid gullibles (the majority) will lie back and allow us all to get screwed. A few of us will complain and be silenced under new rules.
Wyot Yeah I called that all wrong...

I would like to think the racists will be silenced, but wonder whether this will happen when nothing in their world changes except increased unemployment and financial misery...
