From memory only - before anyone jumps on me- Wasn't the March/April spike when they were double-counting flu & pneumonia deaths also as a separate Covid death?

Otherwise, another chart which an alien would look at and go "deadly pandemic that doesn't kill anymore people than normal - have you all gone bananas!?"

It's not "tyranny" Green Man but Future Shock. I reckon you have a case of it.

Future Shock by Alvin Tofler was published in 1970 and I lapped it up but it still hasn't cured my mild Future Shock condition.

It's all about change but one aspect is the psychological feeling that at some stage society will be come to a sort of stand still..all roads will have been built, all buildings put up..everything will be solved, maybe all illnesses cured and so on.

I often get it ..especially in a city and area where there are constant bloody tall buildings going up..I really think at times "when will they bloody well finish these frigging buildings " but of course, they never so.

It's a constant change and often we can't understand it or handle it.

And at the moment people seem to think that once the Covid pandemic is over everything will go back to normal (whatever that was) whereas the chances are with an endlessly increasing population new viruses are likely to pop up all the time to finish us off.

# Lecture ends here.
