I think it is a mystery if one looks at it as a public health rather than political response. Mass "surge sweeps" on towns with the SA variant is the Gov waving its dick around: "we will protect you!"

I think people panic when death is personal.
(ie: when it's them that are brown bread. )
# totally unconnected: I have a cage full of butterflies JK I can send around so you can de-wing them

Absolutely. It all ties together, doesn't it. I'd change my opinion on hospital patients if 99% didn't emerge healthy and happy after a few days.

I can understand why you might believe that as you also believe that 90% of the Covid-19 cases that are in hospital are due to psychosomatic reasons.

You see, we know about 600,000 a year die in the UK. On average about 2000 a day; a mere 1000 a day in summer months; often 3000 a day in winter. Covid19 is accepted as trivial for the vast majority who catch it (like flu when the vaccine works). Nasty, indeed lethal to the old or vulnerable (overweight; unhealthy).
But I cannot understand why people are being tested. Tracing seems to me a huge waste of money.
Common sense says Protect and Treat the vulnerable. I can't even see why the Under 50s get the jab unless they are unhealthy. Just like the flu jab; vaccinate the over 60s and move on. Surely that makes sense?
Unless, of course, you believe the media hype.
This is a Killer Plague. Don't panic Captain Mainwaring. They don't like it up 'em. Stupid boy.
