You might as well abandon the smallpox, measles, ebola vaccinations and stop research for HIV if the "immune system takes care of it".

With over 99% of people though the immune system does take care of Covid; with a majority of those simply unaware they even have it. This could not be said - so far as I am aware - of even 1% of people who contract ebola or HIV. This goes to the heart of why I think shutting down society has been a catastrophic over reaction.

I am though sorry to hear that you have known some who have struggled or died from Covid. I have lost a friend too.

I am sorry to hear about your friend, Wyot. It is horrible.

I am sure most cases go unnoticed, as with flu, but when you are seventy your immune system has had it's day, no matter how fit you are.

Almost everyone recovers from measles, and hardly anyone was harmed by rubella, but it is still worth preventing it by vaccination, just in case.
The difference is, nobody suggested we lock ourselves up in case we get measles.

Well, relying on the immune system hasn't worked very well for (probably) thousands of otherwise healthy people, has it?

I'm not sure this is accurate Honey. Is there any data to back this up? The average age of death with covid has been older than the average age of death (85 to 82 I think off top of my head...). How many 85 year olds have no other medical conditions?

I have no idea, Wyot. I didn't even mention death, But if I know people who have had minor problems that nobody ever dies from, and they get covid (in hospital) and die, and if I know plenty of young healthy people who have been quite ill with it, (and worse) it is safe to assume that probably more than a thousand people have been affected by it and their immune systems were fat use!

He says that due to his age it wouldn’t be fair to jump the queue. Just take it and lead by example Matt!

U.K. population is about 66 million I’m sure there will be million’s who won’t have it. I thought as humans had immune systems ?

Give it a few years they will be injecting us with Covid chip implants.

The vaccine might be rushed, might cause blood clots once in a while, and we might all want to beat our heads against the wall in sheer frustration at the stupidity of it all, but refusing the vaccine is going to make it drag on for ever, so we don't have much choice.

What is a covid chip implant and what is it for?
