Rick The sad thing is people even now seem to think the suffragettes (wspu) were far more important than the suffragists (nuwss). The latter had a HUGE membership, the former had a compartively tiny membership. If anything the wspu put the cause BACK, while Millicent Fawcett and co pushed it forwards. But not as flash, and the media love flash.
JK2006 Watched this again - liked it in the cinema a few years ago. Carey Mulligan excellent. Directed by the lady who directed Rocks - the last film I saw and enjoyed in the cinema in 2020.
