MCR Completely agree about the adverts it does seem to have got a lot worse over the years i remember a time
when you didn't need these sponsors before tv programmes now there's so many of them.
And i can't stand these "oneness" idents the bbc currently have i miss the old globe.

The BBC is it's own worst enemy.

After Diana controversy and now this, there will be further exodus of licence fee payers. The BBC will either get Capita to harass the most vulnerable of people of society to bully in to getting a licence even if they don't need one. Or get the government to add licence on top of the council tax or electric bill.

It's must be hard for the licence investigators AKA door to door salesman to get people to cough up 1) lockdowns, 2) self isolation of people, 3) people are waken up to their tactics.

I am with the American model all TV stations have adverts and channel sponsorships and not forgetting product placements.

I will pay anything to get rid of adverts. I am demented by them. I don't know how some people can not mind.

It doesn't say much for the BBC though, that the best thing about it has got nothing to do with it's programmes.

I think the beeb does a lot of self advertisement but yes I take your point not relentlessly through the programmes; really puts me off too. Their coverage of Covid was shameful. As for films on certain commercial channels ads make them unwatchable.

I think there is a lot of good stuff on BBC still though; nature docs are second to none (also some top dramas) and if you are one of that seemingly vanishing breed of classical music lovers like me then bbc radio 3 keeps the scene alive - brilliantly so, at times.

Youtube and Dailymotion have adverts now more and more, it's becoming the norm.

At least TV in USA is better than UK TV.
