steveimp I was born in 74 so Pertwee was just still the Doctor (Death to the Daleks was on the week I was launched into the world!).
The era I remember most is Davison's. So amazingly 80s.
Can't join in the Tennant arguments though - I think he has done so much to keep the show in the eye as well as producing the goods each week. The Human episodes were incredibly well done. It will be a shame when he does go.
Mart I did love Davidsons use of a cricket ball to wipe out an evil thingammyjig.
A classic scene.
emmapeelfanclub As a lifelong Doctor Who fan, I have endless thoughts and opinions on this show. "My Doctor" was Peter Davison and I still enjoy his adventures as indeed I enjoy virtually all the Doctors for various reasons until the RTD era which I have to admit I have barely enjoyed at all. I have to agree with Al above about RTD but I'll leave it since my opinions on that are best kept to myself and this thread isn't about RTD!

The best Doctor? I would have to say Tom Baker because he had genuine eccentricity and charm, 2 qualities David Tennant does not have. For me, Tennant is the worst Doctor of all... I have never been convinced by him for one second I'm afraid and I look forward to the day he announces he is moving on.
Solihull Exile Just about sums up my thoughts on the Doctor saga.I like David Tennant, but not as the best Doctor.Eccleston, well he's too well known an actor to make it work. You should see the Doctor actor as exactly that, the Doctor, same problems with Paul McGann.
Agree with zooloo about the last 3 episodes, they lost the plot, and Jacobi should have stayed the Master, what an actor, regardless of age.
Nice thread, let's hope it grows with more feedback.
Mart Tom Baker for me .
