I agree elsewhere with JK to ignore trolls as a general rule, but if you are a 12 year old girl with anorexia - this is hard to do. The famous should also have the right not to be slandered with impunity; and ID will provide legal redress, and fire a serious warning shot.
People will scream civil liberties! But Gov needs to catch up with how the world is changing. If you can't racially abuse someone in Waitrose without risk of Police action, why online? Is it any less hurtful?
People are cowards - also I have noticed that if people are challenged they have to record things for YouTube. YouTube won't allow Alex Jones but allow Antifa extremists on their platform.
I don't agree with everything on Alex Jones, he is an extremely nice person off screen. I met him in the early 90s at a gun range I was invited to.
I had no idea what his profession was either. We didn't talk about conspiracies or government.
Social media should be scrapped, if celebrities want to reach out to fans then do what they did in the 80s which was mail order fan clubs. Only the die hard of fans will subscribe.

I agree that children and teenagers need some form of protection from trolls. However, it’s likely that no matter how sensitive they are, they will at some point feel the urge to break free from the cocoon to see and experience the world. Will they have the skills to do this?
