Wyot The alpaca does not wander freely across our country; surely it could just see out it's days in an isolated, enclosed spot? You are right - these "zero" crusades whether a virus or carbon emissions are idealistic, unrealistic & a little scary...
Honey Yes, they put the infection in him, and tested him to see if he had antibodies.

Just the same as if all of us jabbed people were tested and declared positive.
JK2006 You may think this is a silly story. Like culling cows with TB or chickens with bird flu or badgers. I think it's an indication of human stupidity and I'll bet you that we humans will soon be culled if we get tested positive for a future infectious disease. Just wait and watch. Like Climate Change - instead of the sensible "how can we cope" approach, it's become the "stop the spread:" insanity.
