'M'j Jo you are correct. None of Williams-Thomas investigation or exposure programs have ever given a conclusion that is nothing more than conjecture.

The fact is- it goes to the heart of a supposed "journalist" or "investigator's" integrity.

Was it an editorial slip up?. The article is written in the first person and gives the impression (below with a link ) that he had been a detective for 30 years. It was published in 2014. He was born in born in 1970 according to his Wikipedia page which I'm sure he guards religiously. Hence he must have been 14 when his "30 years experience" began.

# I personally thought the article irresponsible & gratuitous serving no positive purpose. Given child "prostitution" (sex abuse) in Brazil is rampant and the article offered no solutions or aid for Brazilian children living in dire poverty.

It was sensationalism for it's own sake and possibly alerted 1000s of British pedophiles that they could travel to Brazil under the guise of the World Cup.

I think all the MWT-fronted programmes I've seen could be described in that way, like most "real crime" programmes (though maybe the Savile programmes should be described as "make believe"). Entertainment from other people's misery.

have always kept silent about the detail of just how hard it was to make #JimmySavile programme, preferring to let the programme speak for itself & allow the good to come form the expose. So reading this article has really upset me- wiped from history

How ironic. This is one of three personal quotes on MWT's IMDb profile:

Will the police now be investigated for using child labour ?

There's one thing convincing the public, but convincing the family and those closest to him was huge. When you start to see streets changed and any semblance of Savile being wiped out ... I can't think of anyone in history who has risen to such heights and fallen so quickly.

www.imdb.com/name/nm2519883/bio?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm

It's a quote from a 2013 Guardian article: Mark Williams-Thomas: I ran the Savile film like a criminal investigation

Mary's newspaper claim is still on the net..where he says he had been a police officer "investigating child abuse for 30 (?) years" which means he joined the force at age 14.

But he didn't really make that show did he? He just took all the BBC research after they shelved the original program and used it to boost his small part in it.

Superb opportunism but really, a one trick pony now possibly looking to be put out to pasture.

Call me naive but if he was responsible for these 100s and 100s of allegations of abuse then the chances were that he'd have done it to the 'wrong kid' who's parents would have Savile knee capped at best.

Not one bit of this mess makes again any sense whatsoever.

Indeed as most were working class girls who often have an angry dad back home.

# My Grandfather was forced to marry my Grandmother by an angry dad when she became pregnant at 15.
