We disagree on how they have arisen: I don't believe they are planned across world powers to some particular end. I think they are organic panicked knee-jerk reactions a Covid death-kiss between media and politicians. But yes it has surprised me just how dreadful things are becoming. I thought - naievly - that with vaccines the politicians would take the chance to calm the panic; but they have leant into it, if anything. You're the kind of pawn the government loves.
