Anthony I just posted a short throw away comment on the issue, that's all, Uberman. It's hardly an earth shattering story, and I won't be awake all night fretting over it.

I don't want to see the guy lose his job particularly. I know nothing about his previous record and assuming it is satisfactory, then a reprimand and the removal of his wage for the offending period of time would be sufficient, I should imagine.

Can anyone remember any policeman EVER losing his job?
Uberman Well you can go work for the NAO and find all those inefficiencies and then find out how noone is really going to listen unless it becomes a bit of a hot potato!

As for the one issue. The story reported that he was not found guilty of a criminal offence. Internal proceedings will still follow in which he might lose his job - which hopefully will satisfy you that justice for the public purse has been achieved.
Anthony We weren't discussing the bigger picture, just this one issue, which I gave my opinion on.

If only I'd known that by working for the NAO I could ensure that all UK taxes were used to my complete satisfaction, I'd have applied for a job there years ago. Why didn't you tell me this before?
Uberman And if the play on words was too subtle for you...
