Penrose Binge watched this excellent series showing (via the story line) how EU police and customs authorities cooperate and work together, fighting cross border crime. Personnel frequently operate in different EU jurisdictions.

The UK's current absence from the club, and information/data bases, isn't a good thing - making international crooks even more difficult to apprehend. We, no longer, have direct access to EU records.

Ireland's Criminal Asset Bureau is a new concept, having comprehensive powers to confiscate assets purchased with the proceeds of crime (mainly drugs, a major Irish problem). Series 2 is imminent.
JK2006 I thought this on BBC4 was excellent; an Irish/Belgian/Canadian co production and very well done. Over the past 3 weeks (2 episodes each Saturday); worth watching on iPlayer.
