Personally..I enjoyed the lockdowns as I was able to avoid the ghastly great public.

Isn't this a false equivalence?
Annual Influenza deaths are under 100,000 worldwide while so far Covid has claimed over 6 million lives in 2 years.
(if they actually died of Covid).
PCR tests wrongly diagnosing Flu as Covid (according, incidentally, to scientists) is not an equivalence of anything.
However, your comparison of annual flu deaths with Covid deaths is; and your OWN caveat acknowledging that Covid deaths may not be Covid deaths while using these very "Covid deaths" to come to your opinion, a peach of an example of DOUBLETHINK.
I mean this as a compliment to say I am surprised at you Hedda.
Covid cant be a "mild illness" and misdiagnosed flu at the same time, because flu is not a mild illness.
Besides, we were all flu jabbed at the same time as the booster.
I didn't say Covid is aways a "mild illness" Honey. It is for many, for others it is more serious. However, flu is a "mild illness" compared to what we were told Covid was; when it was no such thing.
I don't understand the point you are making about booster jabs. |

yes I added a caveat but they did die of something..possibly underlying conditions
But 6 million, nearly one million in the USA with it's undoubted superb hospitals is an awful lot.
and it's the wont of these viruses to keep mutating perhaps into something worse or better..just peter out. |

My views are often unpopular. I have taken a view that Covid was nature saying we are living too long and giving our population a bit of a kick down (although I suspect excess deaths given nobody else died of anything but covid for months will be the same).
My view is that we are living too long. We are treating too many things. Things that are designed to kill us we are treating and avoiding death. My mother is waiting a hip replacement. This type of treatment should be done because a dodgy hip wont kill you. But we are treating cancers and other killers in people in their 70s and 80s and even bloody 90s. Why?
The effect of this is that NHS funds needed are increasing, state pensions are been paid for longer and now we are going to have to work until we are much older due to state pension age increases in order to pay for all of this.
Why have we become so afraid of death? Why are people in their 70s, 80s and 90s demanding to be cured of something that might buy them 5 more years even though them 5 more years are going to be spent ill and infirm with no quality of life.
My Grandma. God rest her soul was told at the age of 83 she had cancer. The doctor started talking about treatment that he could buy her maybe a year, that otherwise it would be quick. I was there and watched as she shut the doctor down. "I've been here 83 years. I've had my turn thank you very much. Just try and keep it pain free". She passed in her home, in her bed 12 weeks later. Happy and content with her family around her.
This is how it will be for me. Killers that treatment will only buy a relative small amount of time will not be treated. Its barmy. Be were born designed to die. If I make 65/70 I will be delighted but I won't delay the day due to the fear of dying and obsession we have with beating death with medicine. |
