It's anachronistic and wrong to have non-military individuals (who never served) being saluted by regiments during parades and march pasts.
The regimental 'head' (and similar roles) should be appointed from those former and decorated members of the particular service section.
Royal involvement makes no sense these days and harps back to the days when monarchs led their troops into battle. And that hasn't happened for a while!

Phil Space & Glenda Slagg still pretending they have spoken to "royal insiders"

What's ironic to me is that the only current Royals, who served in the military and were involved in actual warfare (putting their lives at risk), are barred from receiving honorary titles
Like regiment heads, generals, commanders-in-chief etc. Those chosen never wore a true military uniform. But persona-non-grata like Harry and Andrew are ignored.

I'm a huge fan of The Queen and the whole Royal Family; though I know no more about them than anyone else, I do know a lot about both the Media and the False Allegations Industry. It is my fervent wish that anyone who goes along with False Allegations has it happen to them. I'd say "like it happened to Max Clifford" except I really believe his accuser was genuine (she did not exaggerate at all which she would have done, were she a false accuser). I think the way The Queen has dealt with this is SO classy and SO intelligent. What a great lady she is. An example to us all.
Rather than choosing to publicly support Andrew, I think The Queen might simply have chosen to travel with the only child who was coming without a partner?
