JK2006 Just finished Riccardino - the first Montalbano novel I've read (I absolutely adore the TV series; possibly my favourite ever). It's also the final one; written in 2005 when the 80 year old decided to retire; rewritten and updated and finally published in 2016 when he was 91, just before he died. Mixed reviews from his fans but I've absolutely loved it. Especially being in Italy. Some great notes about Italy at the end from the translator. I'm straight off to my favourite book store here in Rome which carries thousands of English language books to buy an earlier masterpiece!
