JK2006 So if he DID decide to put his name forward, when would he do it?
ANSWER - about one hour before deadline closes.
If he DID decide to join the Lib Dems as leader?
ANSWER - unofficially - today. Secret meetings with Davey.
Remember Cameron sold Clegg a similar idea.
And if he did decide to call an election - when?
ANSWER - an hour before the new Tory leader is chosen.
JK2006 I wasn't asking for answers to questions I didn't ask BB. Of course there are many reasons why neither would be considered if they ARE indeed possible. Likewise there are a few reasons why either MIGHT work. I think, if Boris were to put his name forward, he'd certainly end in the final 2 and probably would win. I think, if the LibDems saw many of their key positions guaranteed by a LibDem government, they might just agree (lots of big increases in salaries too).

The answer is yes to both questions, although the second scanario would require the agreement of others who would never give it serious consideration. You could have asked "Is it possible that Boris will leave politics and become a full time tennis coach?" and the answer to that question would still have been yes.
