JK2006 Yes Nina's version is definitely Marmite. It's my favourite (I love the way she goes out of tune on "tune". She turns it into a Black Power anthem; brave in 1965. And gives a very clear indication of her interpretation on what it was meant.

It might be bizarre, (I love it)but Nina Simone doesn't misinterpret it as a love song, which is the problem for most. (In my head. No idea what you actually meant, obviously )



The Marlene Dietrich version is perfect in every way. I wish I could find the studio version.
