Lisey's Story is on hold for me Mart whilst I work through the other five Booker finalists!
Yes Chesil Beach is indeed in your neck of the woods.
Mart
I assume it`s set around Chesil Beach down here?
Allways refreshing to be taken to a not so far off land with a tale.
Stephen King appears once again to have taken the reader to Maine with "Lisey`s Story".

On Chesil Beach.
A gem. Minute observation, reminiscent of Jane Austen. Short, superb, economic.
McEwan is definitely one of our top three novelists.
I loved Enduring Love and Atonement (longing to see the film; anyone seen it?); wasn't so keen on Amsterdam, his only Booker winner, but this deserves to win. Since I haven't yet read the other five I can't predict yet but suffice it to say that if On Chesil Beach does win, it will be a worthy winner.
