Wyot Just stay dull and unremarkable Kier: this is all that is required at the moment.

In fact, may be what people want right now; such is how spooked the UK is by the current Government:

Green Man Why bother voting they all puppets, Liz Truss is a fucking globalist FFS!
JK2006 I disagree WYOT - the global public will fall for a good media hype (and charisma) any time; we simply no longer have the time or inclination for depth of thought. The next election will be won by a party with a simplistic slogan manifesto ("Make Britain great... take back control... increase your income") and a pretty or handsome leader. Rules me out then, thank God.
Wyot I'm no Starmer fan but have a feeling that people are tired of "charismatic" leaders, and with the country in such a dire state, peace precarious, energy prices and mortgages about to sky rocket because of the most incompetent Government in modern history, they will flock to anyone they perceive as quietly, boringly competent.

I predict a landslide for Labour at the next election. Then proportional representation will be demanded to curb excesses and return balance.

Brexit and Boris took place in another era. Lockdowns and needless deaths and trashed economies have changed the game.

A theory, anyway.
JK2006 Much of the Labour energy plan makes sense though I suspect it's more because Starmer thinks it will play well with simplistic slogan loving morons - oops public - than properly thought through. Likewise the stupid Truss tax cuts. I wish Clegg was still LibDem leader (Davey is useless). The rest of the world must think the UK is in a terrible state. The only consolation is - so is the rest of the world.
