The UK left the EU in name only for fuck sake.

His words on why he voted Leave now sound distinctly hollow.
I doubt that the UK will ever rejoin the EU, as it would most likely not be eligible for the opt-outs it negotiated when it was a member (e.g. not in the passport-free Schengen zone, not in the euro) but would have to go in under the same conditions as everyone else ("Oh no! Not us Brits! We're special!").
If Mordaunt DOES get over 100 and decides NOT to withdraw - it goes to the stupid members who chose stupid Truss above Rishi. I suspect they would choose Penny. I like the look and sound of her as opposed to Truss who I've thought was mad ever since she had an affair with my local MP years ago. But I also think MPs have at least met both parties unlike most of us and are probably better choosing the leader.
I can't see myself voting Tory. Likewise, wild horses wouldn't get me to vote Labour (which I've done only twice - once for Blair; once for Corbyn).
I used to vote Lib Dem and would do so again if they got a half decent leader.

Let's just hope now for some stability to cool the markets. Let's hope he can govern like a grown up and is not derailed in 5 minutes by the racist element of the Tory membership, or financial skeletons (there's a LOT on his wife's dealings...) or some nonsense about breaking lockdown rules.
He will never get my vote as he was part of the hysterical lockdown Government that has killed (and is killing) so many.
But I know most people don't seem the slightest bit bothered about this.
