JK2006 Mister Pip is delicious and terribly original.
In with a good chance to win though for me On Chesil Beach just pips it (excuse the pun; you'll understand when you read it).

Lloyd Jones' first published novel in the UK.

I must tell you, every year I'm really glad those Booker judges took the trouble because I love discovering novels I would never normally have even known about.

Best of all though, in twenty years of reading, was Never Let Me Go.
