I find it baffling that someone should cash in or make preparations for cashing in on their story and still be allowed to go to court. |

Fascinating rape case that has gripped Australia with a Canberra jury abandoning a rape trial because a juror was found with an academic paper on "false accusations" after being told not to do "their own research"
Of course I'm ignorant to the truth (how could I know?)
but amazing to read social media and the utter ignorance of people, many furious the accused did not take the stand and saying he must be forced to and the "brave" accuser who was labelled "woman of the year" by Elle magazine and negotiated a $200,000 book deal before charges were even laid.
It's become very political and Twitter nutters are out in force but the number of people who simply believe accusation means guilt and a trial is just a foregone conclusion is bizarre.
# I doubt a second trial will take place due to the impossibility of finding an impartial jury.

Oh we get many different posters and literally thousands of visitors and readers (including media and authorities). And have done since the mid 1990s - coming up for 30 years online. We carry many opinions unless they are malicious, stupid or unreadable. Can the system change for the better? I doubt it; simplification, the devil's weapon of mass destruction, means such complex situations as False Allegations and Corrupt or Incompetent cops get ignored. Easy solutions are always preferred to depth of thought. After all, nobody can read, see or hear any headline of more than three words in 2022. |

The system is not going to be changed. Or rather it is, and in a way that will make it easier for false accusers to line up to claim 'compensation'. As per the UK child abuse inquiry recommendations. One of your posters thought it a good thing. |

It's working exactly as designed - BENT to the benefit of the un-elected corrupt controllers, Cops/Lawyers/Banks/Media BIG MAFIA!
UK/England, Wales, Scotland equal age of consent at 16 was finally secured in 2001. Puritan Ulster’s age of consent was lowered to 16 seven years later in 2008, ultimately in line with the rest of the uptight UK.
