He's clearly very odd (his alien "dance" moves) and has a totally weird father but I still have lots of time for him.
However I totally disagree with him about MARS.
As anybody reading my new novel will see - I think the future is closer to the sun, not further away.
THOMAS LOVE PEACOCK LUV TOM - available from Amazon and all good booksellers.

My feeling is Musk has sort of tumbled into this..after all he spent months in court trying to get out of the deal..he does come across as impulsive as in his nasty "pedo guy' comments (and the Pelosi crap).. I mean the 'richest man' nastily defaming a hero who saved a bunch of kids..why? just mean.
And I don't think those who lent him money. Saudis, banks want Twitter to fail and become a one sided political forum either left or right.
All these internet forums are new ground..Facebook's price is now tumbling and MySpace was worth a fortune at times.
The value of the information is not what people are saying and thinking - it is how they form their opinions, interact and influence others. It is behaviouralism.
There is nothing else to compare (in scale) to the twitter database in this respect, and I wonder how useful this could be to AI projects.
Might be totally barking up the wrong tree of course...
Short term it seems Twitter usage is shooting up; could just be voyeurism at the moment.
As you say, so hard to predict this sort of sector.

So what is Musk's objective seeing his uncontrolled tweets have put off advertisers wary of what he'll do next?.
One theory mooted: he's pandering to China where he is a favored manufacturer and has opened up Tesla sales rooms and recently suggested Taiwan should become a sort of new Hong Kong to China and align themselves with the Mainland.
With China's booming Middle Class perhaps they are his new Tesla customers.
Would someone really burn $44B on such escapades?
A thought. Musk's big thing is Artificial Intelligence. Twitter may well now be the largest database of human thoughts and interactions on planet earth. Perhaps he is not overly worried about developing it for revenue; the value is in the information....

- a newly ex Twitter employee in the UK was interviewed and said that he'd received no communication to say he'd been sacked, he'd just learned it by discovering that his laptop had been wiped and access to communication systems revoked.
- a reporter said that no logical pattern had emerged so far to indicate why certain people were being sacked, but that an entire team that worked on counteracting disinformation had been axed.
The former seems to fit an emerging pattern of Musk treating people like dirt while the latter suggests that conspiracy theorists and possibly worse may now be allowed to flourish on Twitter.
I have a Twitter account but never contribute but follow heaps of blue tick journalists , professors etc.
In the past few days the most horrendous stuff has been popping up..vile antisemitism about Anne Frank, awful racial attacks on Blacks etc.
Possibly because Musk has fired the moderation team.
No wonder advertisers have fled..Coca Cola, VW , GM etc etc..numerous US ginormous corporations.
Understandable..no company wants to spend a fortune advertising and suddenly appear near say Ye on an antisemitic rave & get a million dollars worth of bad publicity like Balenciaga who have become a laughing stock in the fashion world.
These corporations may well support and donate to conservative politicians and parties but want to sell Coca Cola to old lefties as well.

I would be more supportive when Paul Pelosi comes out and his Nancy will admit their marriage is a sham.
