Tales of the Unexpected was an odd show. The odd gem amongst a series of rather bland stories. Although I love Roald Dahl. Again I don't believe any of his books have come off well on the big screen...re: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, although The Witches was a terrific adaptation. That said it is a pet hate of mine...classic books done into films...I prefer them left in my mind...where they belong!

Flemming wrote the novel, Dahl co-wrote the film script.

They were showing them fairly recently on one of the satellite channels - I'm sure they will be repeating them again soon. I seem to remember the Royal Jelly story was a bit ridiculous.

The best of "Tales Of the Unexpected", I had in a book called "Someone Like You", by Dahl and it was excellent and terrifying even before TV got hold of it.
