Turns out that she accused him in relation to "at least six" alleged incidents. How could you confuse someone for someone else even once in that situation, let alone at least six times? Absurd.
Giuffre first accused Dershowitz of abuse in 2014, when she submitted an affidavit as part of a federal lawsuit two Epstein victims filed against the government.
“I had sexual intercourse with Dershowitz at least six times,” that affidavit stated, adding that these alleged encounters occurred at Epstein’s homes around the country and U.S. Virgin Islands. “The first time was when I was about 16, early on in my servitude to Epstein, and it continued until I was 19.”
This interview addresses why she may have used the word "may" ("I may have made a mistake") and Alan Dershowitz says documents have been sealed which need to be unsealed and urges the media to press for this to be done.

He speaks about her retraction (or sort of retraction) here. He doesn't give the impression of really thinking she falsely accused him by mistake.

I need to correct you Alan. Not for one second was she "confused or mistaken". The woman is a very wealthy criminal.
reading between the lines..clearly Dershowitz was going to crucify this woman in court hence her agreed statement she was "confused"

Wow! Wonder what Alan Dershowitz had found out about her. It must have felt rather sickening to make this statement:
In a statement, Dershowitz said he was 'gratified' that the lawsuit had ended.
He said: 'As I have said from the beginning, I never had sex with Ms. Giuffre. I have nevertheless come to believe that at the time she accused me she believed what she said.
'Ms. Giuffre is to be commended for her courage in now stating publicly that she may have been mistaken about me.
'She has suffered much at the hands of Jeffrey Epstein, and I commend her work combatting the evil of sex trafficking'.

Then let's see the Weinstein Women admit that they were part of the "Casting Couch" mentality, desperate to win roles in films and perfectly happy to prostitute themselves until the media "exposed" this appalling situation? A bit of exaggeration, the odd lie and voila - millions in the bank and revenge on the bastard who failed to hire them after they gave the ghastly abuser a blow job. Just like the Vile Virgins who begged a top actor for drugs before slumping into a passive position and later made millions from giving evidence against him. Or, coming up next year folks, the "actors" who agreed to the demands of a top artistic director and now regret it. And the thousands of ordinary people who agreed with the ENABLERS to get compensation from the CICA or the media to adapt their memories to include criminal acts as opposed to consensual behaviour or, sometimes, no such behaviour at all.
