Turn the deserts into hugely new fresh environments (tress can grow in sand - why not humans?). Move cities and villages out of flood areas into higher, safer ones.

Let's not be fooled by the stupid, spoon faced, teenage, media believing simplifiers. No brains. No wisdom. No experience.
