There used to be a dedicated Charity Commission website, which seems to have disappeared and been replaced by a gov.uk site, that used to have a really useful feature: coloured charts showing what proportion of a charity's takings was spent on admin and what proportion on charity work, etc. That has now disappeared, so it's no longer possible to decide at a glance whether to donate to a particular charity.
