emmapeelfanclub I have always had admiration and respect for JK because he is unique as is this site which is always interesting and thought provoking. I have always had much respect for his opinions and when it comes to pop music, his finger has always been on the pulse. I recall in the mid 80s he began championing Falco's "Rock Me Amadeus". I hated the song (still do) and wondered what JK saw in it but again, he spotted and brought to attention a record that became a worldwide smash... along with a great many others he highlighted and gave time to in the press, TV and radio.

Bear in mind too that JK was not profiting financially from helping such records become hits. A bit like when Andrew Loog Oldham took out ads in 1966 expressing his love for "Pet Sounds".

It is also very rare an artiste takes a constant and active role within their own website, let alone publish the better written negative and abusive posts which he then responds to in a very intelligent and reasoned manner.

What stands out above all is his humility and sense of humour. Who else would take the "Vile Pervert" tag the media gave him and turn it into a clever, amusing and downright catchy song?

Like JK, I am a firm believer in the law of Karma. What you give out is what you get back. I've had much abuse over my life from many unfortunate and retarded narrow minded people and it has hurt. What many of my pals couldn't understand was why I never actively sought or took revenge on such people. I would be told "you're letting them walk all over you" but time was always on my side and my attackers would get their just desserts eventually without me having to do anything because they hung themselves with negativity, bad vibes and bad karma. As a result I've been able to live and lead an interesting fulfilling life.
chrissy He's totally unafraid of criticism too. Has published posts that are less than flattering, puts everything in the mix. To that degree this site is unique, but JK has never done anything timidly. He opens his heart and his life to all, and of course it deeply ruffles the feathers of those that wish him ill. I think he's bloody great!!
JK2006 Accessibility was always my secret weapon for success in music Toby and spreading the word of mouth...... it was my accessiblilty that brought me Seaside Shuffle for example.

I've had so many hits through it. I listen and talk and spread the word.

Which, of course, was a key reason for my trial and false allegations. "Why didn't everyone do it?" mocked the Prosecution (a dreadful hairy man called David Jeremy).

And you'd be surprised by the ratio of positive to negative.
And the nasties are so clearly mentally, intellectually and educationally subnormal, it makes me delighted to see who my enemies are.

The brain dead almost every time.

You may notice, I put the literate and sensible criticisms up here without any problem.
Toby Amazing that throughout all the shit you were ALWAYS easy to track down; anyone wanting to reach you just put Jonathan King into an internet search and up came King Of Hits - since the last century, if I remember.

You must have put up with a load of shit during the worst times - was it worth it to get the positive stuff?

Even now - Google your name and this site is there above Wikipedia and all the others.

You've never been afraid of contact with the public and I think the media admires that.
veritas The great irony for the so-called "Fleet Street" newspapers is that if all crime or scandal ceased-they would be out of business within weeks.

If they didn't have a JK to continually berate and castigate, they'd have to invent one.

I think you must be one of the few victims of the gutter press mania that has stood up to them and it's quite fascinating to have seen that happen. Holding your head high as you have, is very instructive.

Being involved in the media, I'm sure you could tell tales as you must have met many journalists over the years. I only know one-who I went to school with, who worked for years on a popular tabloid.

I remember one of the stories he broke was about a cafe dealing in grass ( pretty old fashioned I know). But he spent weeks in their buying his own supplies before he 'busted' the place in an expose. "All in the interests of research" he used to boast, while puffing on a huge joint in private.
