I caught some Radio 4 the morning of Holocaust Day and it was very balanced- covering all other atrocities mentioned here. It was moving and terribly sad.

let's not forget the Roma, gays, socialists, trade unionists(and gay Roma, socialists and trade unionists) who also perished.
The word has been understandably co-opted for one terrible event but I think unwisely as others point out here..it can lessen the evils of so many other innocents who suffer and there is a constant backlash.

Let's not forget the equivalent still goes on today - Rwanda, recently, Rohingya at this moment, MeToo and the False Allegations Industry (killing more people every day). Humanity is getting worse.
