zooloo There is no evidence that electromagnetic radiation from mobile phones (or wi-fi) has any effect on people.

When they did tests people couldn't say if the things were active or not. Any problems are probably in your mind.
Michael The word from Uncle Michael: Moderation in all things!

I resisted them for years. But it got to the stage that it was costing me not to have one, particularly when attending trade fairs, festivals and the like.

I never got as far as the camera bit. And I once sent an MMS out of curiosity. Never ever received one.

But does anyone remember the G3 scam, when frequencies went up for auction and BT almost bankrupted itself trying to buy them across Europe? If I remember, that was because we were all going to be sending MMS thingies and doing all sorts of things. Then there was eBay buying Skype for $3 billion dollars. Turns out it was a dud, as they are still losing money on the thing (great way to save money on int'l calls, though). My current phone is a freebie I received from a paper supply shop.

I now have more of a problem with e-mail, which I find intrusive to the point of infuriation. A lot of people don't bother ringing any more and presume you have read an e-mail 1 minute after they sent it. I recently configured the e-mail to only pick up new e-mail every 30 minutes. And I'm debating changing that to 45 minutes. So I can do what has to be done without being distracted.
Al My mobile is a very simple one with a green screen and no camera. Mostly I keep it switched off, and I only really use it if I need collecting from rail stations, airports, etc. Also, it's a pay-as-you-go so no contract.
Mart Two other things I have noticed about the dang things, which nobody seems to have documented.
Never put them in your pocket next to a battery.I only did this once, stuck it in my pocket next to a spare PP3, for microphone use, and the heat that erupted in my pocket was like a hot stone was in there.
Nobody believed me until they held the battery in their hand even up to 5 minutes later-still very hot!

The other one, is, I find whichever bit of my person I store it near, definetly aches, including the ear when in use, obviously.

I only take it with me when going away now, never take the thing out for shopping trips and the like, they`ll just have to wait. It got so intrusive.

My final view on this , I shall write in "predictive text" for you, which of course I have not mastered at all, and once accidently told someone where to go using it.

Here goes...

JK2006 I'm with you all on this - I think mobile phoes are the ultimate evil.
Read CELL!

When I came out I noticed everyone was walking around like Munch's The Scream - one hand pressed to one ear (mobile), the other clasped over the other (to enable clearer sound), mouth open (either talking or getting ready to talk)...

Not noticing others, living in a tiny little world...

Plus the electronic ramifications...

UGH! But SO much a symbol of superficial, selfish society these days, blindly charging like lemmings over the cliff of sanity.
