This does look interesting GM. I do like books about nature/Natural World and people involved with it. Read a few of those lives of modern shepherds books etc in recent years and "H is for Hawk" is a must.

PS- you are def more than a couple years older than me if you were working in NY in mid 80s! I was starting secondary school

I left school, my uncle found me a job in NYC he was friends with the owner. It was probably illegal for me to work in a pub there. However I was only collecting glasses, washing and wiping tables.

It was cash in hand for a few years, until I got the right documentation. My ex was the landlord's daughter, we had on and off relationship for year's.

Not forgetting she's the mother's of my daughter's.

The only reason I wanted to Ireland was The Troubles were starting all over again. It was bad enough in the late 70s and early 80s, in mid 80s I had enough.

If you're bored Wyot at some point in life when you're children leave the nest.

Take up beekeeping.

Green Man I'm glad that Network have released an additional DVD of Out of Town series. It did completely passed by me as kid and youth. (I was working in New York in mid 80s)

However, its great series of whats becoming a bygone era. The country side is now expanding, boundaries are moving and townies are moving in with clue how to respect the rural Britain.

Wyot, you should read this. www.amazon.co.uk/Jacks-Country-Paul-Peac...0992722047&psc=1
