You now sound like Major Gowen.

Yes GM I very nearly bought a second home in Ostia (near Rome) years ago but discovered just in time it did not belong to the people selling it to me. But indeed I would advise those in their teens or twenties to look elsewhere and suggest both Tunisia and Morocco as excellent alternatives (also Thailand).
Most of France has always been a crap hole to me. Even southern France is losing its charm and beautiful countryside. Maybe it's the expats so they needed to build more.
I always tell youths in pubs to leave the UK if they can. If they are tech savvy they can do a lot of work at home. Going to the USA as a late teen opened up new horizons and I learnt the world better than any text book could.
I started off as pulling pints but networked with friends to open a gay club, then I sold my shares too cheaply to a cocaine fulled gay lawyer.
Why not buy a second home abroad JK? You will get the best of Vitamin D and all the swimming your heart desires. Keep the London place an asset.
