There is always some risk with vaccines but I am sure the Covid vaccine has saved more lives than taken. But the great tragedy with Covid was that the young (even younger middle aged) and healthy were encouraged to take it when there was no need because Covid was not a risk to them in any meaningful sense. The vaccine, also, not affect transmission from safe populations to more vulnerable. So that was a great wrong, caused by a great panic.
Masks in hospitals shown to make no difference to Covid outcomes.
At the time of the pandemic there was no evidence that they were effective. Yet they were mandated. Better to be safe until we know? Perhaps (fairly feeble reasoning but perhaps...) where masks are concerned. But there was also no evidence at the time that lockdowns and other restrictions made any difference, and they cost (and are costing) lives.
We were never following any science. It was clear right from the start to layman such as myself able to read, add up and loosely reason.
