As he sits in Belmarsh, possibly in the same cell I occupied for several months in 2001, and reads this article, he must be despairing. Certainly not a nice man and one who probably enjoyed rough sex and dominating women, the article reads like a blueprint in false allegations or, rather, exaggerations. He will have heard them as an officer, told that victims "must be believed even if they are lying". He'll know that the woman who did not report her rape until 20 years later "when his arrest cropped up in the media" was almost certainly NOT raped and knew that, at the time, having consented to sex and deeply regretted it afterwards. But interviewers have a prompt list and media tells her what to add (someone peeing on you is a frequent embellishment though it rarely happens and never only once). A text book example of media induced false allegations "and how to do it".
Just read the claims, spot the similar language and the identical details.
Carrick deserves to be in prison. So do many other abusers and rapists. But the vast majority are victims of exaggeration and media created inflation. It's about time society spotted this.
