You begin with an assumption you haven't justified Trevor: that anachronistic legacies are problematic. Please explain why?

Paying for concerts is just a small part of the support the government and taxpayer provides the Crown - although the details are never published. Ownership of royal residences is shrouded in mystery - but most are held by members of the royal family. Sandringham (with its 8,000 acres) was bought for Victoria and Albert, by the public. Why, I wonder, does HMG not publish a Royal balance sheet - so that the taxpayer can see how much we're contributing to an anastronistic legacy?

You do get the feeling that The Royals get a bit lost and desparate when it comes to the pop music concerts they feel are necessary for every event.
Charles is either not a pop music lover or has a poor and very outdated radar for popular taste.
To think that George I had Handel compose the Water Music. I suspect many acts that reflect great British popular music would want nothing to do with the event. But I don't understand why they feel these pop concerts are necessary or add anything in the first place.
Why not commission a new piece of classical (or perhaps long form electronic) music to add something substantial and memorable to the event? Accompanied by a new work of electronic art/dancing/performance running alongside?
That concert was forgotten before the final note.

I haven't watched any of it, but I'm a bit bemused as to why they haven't been able to get British stars to dominate the King's own concert. Katy Perry and (sound effect of coffin being opened) Lionel Richie??? You can normally rely on little Reg Dwight to shoot up a royal's fundament at the first toot of a gold racing horn. Even that brown-nosing aristo-addict couldn't be arsed to turn up? Charles owes far more than he probably realises to The Beatles, seeing as they spotted John Tavener's potential before even his powdered poppinjay mates did, but he seems to have either missed the plot or just been royally snubbed. It's all a bit shambolic.
