Not taken them seriously since Jeremy Thorpe.A brilliant man, sadly destroyed by an act of kindness. |

I notice one of the contenders has evil staring eyes. |

I do hope you understand my colloquial use of the word beard, Mart!
As it happens I think this could be a crucial contest.
I suspect everyone, like me, is fed up with both the Tories and New Labour.
But there is absolutely no alternative.
I voted Lib Dem last time for one reason - they were against the Iraq invasion and mass murder committed in our name and with our money.
I'd vote Lib Dem again if they provided a genuine, sensible alternative, NOT ruled by the media indoctrination (referendum on Europe? Stupid idea - which member of the public has the slightest clue?) but by intelligent use of taxes, fairness, decency and not falling for the "is it a good story?" dominant ethos. |

And why not indeed!
The one that says "I shall consult the Runes" must be a contender as well!
It`s very sad for the Lib Dems that news of a departing leader is still greeted with large amounts of indifference and apathy.
But then is that the view of politics?
Or just the view on middle ground politics.
"Vote Medium", never had a ring to it, "Vote Medium With A Beard", now that sells.(so the Runes tell me..) |

Whichever candidate - instead of saying "I must first talk with my wife" says "I must first talk with my beard" gets my vote. |
