You could of course serialize it or put the whole book up for sale under your own steam and avoid any publisher Chrissy.

www.lulu.com - that's how I'm doing mine!
Al I didn't register the books with Amazon. This is done automatically by Amazon when they receive lists of new releases. As publisher I submit details of the book, format, ISBN, subject, reading age, etc. to Whittakers, and they provide details to sellers.
K2 I read a very interesting article about a mountain climbing book becoming extremely popular with limited publicity due to the fact it was "similar/related" on Amazon to a best seller. People read the "if you enjoyed this try..." and did.

When you're registering a product at Amazon, are you able to specify "related" products?
Al I published my own fiction and poetry, and sold them through Amazon. Also delighted when orders came in from various bookshops. I hadn't promoted my work other than to have it indexed by Whittaker, so some level of success can be achieved without the major publishers being involved.

Like several others, I never talk about it or let anyone read it until it's finished.

Good feeling when it all comes together.
Mart Very good advice actually.
I was so buzzing about the offer for my book last week I nearly told everyone, then ,in finding that there is actually no equivalent publication, Mrs Mart quite correctly told me to hush which I have, and all anybody knows about it publicly is this brief mention.
