I was in Texas in 1989/90. Pretty much the last year of my American residence.
when there a mass drought acoss the Mid-West and some parts of the South.
It was very hot and sticky. The beach in Galveston packed and I saw a lot of boobs and moobs.
The old folks back then remembered the Dust Bowl from the 1930 it was fascinating to hear their stories and history.
I only knew about the drought in the 1950's which lasted for about 5 years.
Anything over 35c in the Med is normal in the Summer.
Summer is hot remember?!
It will get hot in August then cool down in the Autumn, then cold in Winter which is my favorite season.
