To the first point Robbie, so what? The FA is responsible for men's and women's football in this country, regardless of the existence of a separate women's association. All this has nothing to do with the monarchy attending a World Cup Final for either sex, though I concede I did mention his FA appointment in my initial post. To the second point - well the Queen of Spain managed to attend to see her country. I don't believe Charles or William's attendance would have been impossible to manage...

robbiex	Prince William is the President of the Football Association, however, he isn't the president of the Women's Football Association which is completely different, so he doesn't have any responsibility in that capacity. When England won the World Cup in 1966, the Queen attended and presented the trophy to Bobby Moore. However, this tournament is taking place on the other side of the world in Sydney and attendance would have to be planned weeks ahead, you can't just bump someone else out of their seat in order to make way for Prince William and his entourage. It could have been foreseen that England would get to the Final, given that they are European champions and the second-ranked team in the tournament, however it would strange if Prince William rocked up to watch two random nations play in the final on the other side of the road.
