Yes there is - actor. "A person who's profession is acting on stage or screen." No need for a gender adjective, or a cut and paste "tress" to separate the men from the girls...

The word actor was not (and is not) gender specific, until women started acting and men called them actresses (c 1700) to distinguish their insecure little selves. Thespians were all actors, not actresses, initially.

I don't care either way - other than whether they are any good. But this is not "wimmin's lib Gone Mad"; it is the attempted excision of an historical pejorative.

Actress equalled prostitute for a long, long time...according to men, of course.

did the word ACTRESS become non-woke? They are now Actors. I ask because, before she became my mummy, she was, proudly, an actress.

And an actress she will always be.
It is just bollocky nonsense that diminishes women.
