Rewilding is a great way when it's done right, which planting trees, shrubs and flowers. Not the weeds and grass take over, it that does is encourage ticks, vermin, grasshoppers and rodents.
Sounds like the councils like to sugar coat things.
Weeds do not arract bees, it's just food for garden pests.
I did let a patch of my garden go wild to see what would go, after I moved in. It was nothing but nettles, ants nests, ticks and brambles and the stuff you see in ditches.
I have feeling the rewild land will be sold off very quickly.
Lavender is very cheap and easy to maintain why not just plant those and wild flowers? Then get people on community service to pull out the weeds.
I think the government should encourage seed planting. Give households about 30 packets of wildseeds and if needed supply plant pots.
