Buying merchandise at gigs - is for the drunk, rich or stoned.
Just like acquiring jackets at the Monaco Grand Prix, or the Kentucky Derby.
They see the punters coming! Zero controls - €20 in Mark's Square. Venice, for a coffee.

I gave up on the concessions stand year's ago Robbie. I might buy the odd CD. T shirts are made in sweat shops or are just plain shirts you get from Fruit Of the loom wholesalers with some print on that fades after a year. The T shirt and print is only worth about £7. Yet they charge anything from £25 to £50 these days. Jackets and hoodies range from £50 to £200. To me that's a deposit for a holiday.
When I saw Eric Bibb live his t shirts were £75. Not many were sold that night.

Sporting events are the same. £100 to go to Queens tennis today, and the food and merch prices are through the roof. £10 for a sandwich. The merchandise stall prices were crazy. £72 for a big umbrella, who would pay £72 for an umbrella. I hope they didn't do any business, I certainly didn't buy any.

I have nothing against Toto, I just think they were a poor man's Alan Parsons Project and Kansas, even as a kid.
Tours in general have been very quiet in the UK.
Bruce from Iron Maiden is becoming a crabby old guy these days. At least Neil Young never hid it.
It still boggles the mind how many Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter tribute acts there are on tour.

I think Toto have gained a whole new fanbase mainly down to Africa being used often in various Netflix shows etc. And that song has gained some cult status on various Facebook groups from what I have seen. I do like Africa and Rosanna, but that's about it. So many 70s supergroups now with hardly any of the original members. Either dead or wasted. They tend to bring in a strong backing band and a geriatric lead vocalist who can't hit the notes any more. lol.
