JK2006 Wonderful movie - best Western I've ever seen.
JK2006 Brilliant photography - up there with the best today. And in B&W (I've never seen better use of shadows and contrast). Terrific script - not one wasted word (or shot). Great sound - in 1946! I was one year old.
JK2006 I'd never even heard of this film, let alone seen it, and I don't like Westerns but this is brilliant (thank you BBC2 scheduler). Henry Fonda (Wyatt Earp) - wonderful. Victor Mature (Doc Holliday) - wonderful. If this film had been made identically in 2024 it would win Best Movie Oscar.
