I can't believe a GP noticed either. It means that the parents must actually have been able to consult a GP occasionally for him even to notice their absence from his practice. Not that I know anything about this, but I suspect this woman is less likely to be mentally ill than to have some kind of personality disorder like psychopathy, for her to have been able to have been in enough control of her own thought processes and aware of reality to be able to carry out something like this successfully and maintain a deception for years.

Is this another case of people losing their sanity during the pointless lockdown?
The other family members didn't seem to care about their parents either. You don't have to be close to your neighbours to know if there is a change in behaviour or pattern. So people tried to contact the parents but couldn't and if they went round she'd tell them they were on holiday or not well. If someone has too many holidays or is ill too many would ring alarm bells. I can't believe a GP called the police not a neighbour.
I wouldn't be surprised if other family members were part of the killing, but she was willing to do the deed. If the only correspondence was through text or email to parents, that is odd. Yes, people do text their parents but they also give them quick phone calls to say hello or a Merry Christmas.
